Academy Access is a Finnish
company founded by Dr. Veikko Jaaskelainen,
a retired professor and a former Rector of the HSE Helsinki School of Economics
(the leading business school in Finland).
During
his career in HSE Dr. Veikko Jaaskelainen
also administered the "Experience Asia" programs of HSE, which at
that time were offered only in Malaysia. Students visiting these programs came
from the leading universities in Finland such as the University of Helsinki,
the University of Jyväskylä, the University of Tampere, the University of Vaasa,
the Helsinki University of Technology, the Tampere
University of Technology, the Lappeenranta University
of Technology, the Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration and
the Helsinki School of Economics. In addition there were also many participants
from other European business schools.
Academy
Access is now introducing similar programs to new locations and offering them
to a wider audience of business students in Europe, Asia and America.
Dr.
Veikko Jaaskelainen acts
now as the Chairman of the Board of Academy Access. He received his M.A. in
Economics from the Yale University, USA, and Master of Science in Business
Administration as well as Doctor’s degree from the Helsinki School of
Economics.
The
President of Academy Access is Dr. Kari Jaaskelainen.
He has a ten-year experience as an entrepreneur. His experience includes the
consulting of several polytechnics in Finland, the coordination of the
four-year national technology program of Tekes, the
National Technology Agency of Finland, and the organization and management of
fact- finding tours for Finnish executives to the wireless Internet market in
Japan. He received his M.Sc. in Business
Administration degree from the Helsinki School of Economics and Doctor’s
degree from the Media Lab of the University of Art and Design in Helsinki.
The
Program Director of Academy Access is Mr. Jorma Pohtola. He has over 20 years experience in both
academic and business life. His experience includes international
education and management training, international retailing and B to B financial services. In the field of academic
research he has coordinated various research studies linked to entrepreneurship
and retailing. Before joining Academy Access, he worked as Program
Director of “Experience Asia” –program at JOKO Executive
Education Ltd in Helsinki School of Economics. He received his M.Sc. in Business Administration from the Vaasa School of Economics and Business Administration and
his Lic. Econ. degree from the Helsinki School of Economics. Mr. Pohtola is currently finishing his Ph.D. –studies at
Helsinki School of Economics.
